Character count and Guillemets pointing inwards

I'm a German writer and I like and use PageFour for writing novels and short stories in German.

The German publishers (of short stories) only are interested in the number of characters, not in the number of words. A character count would be nice.

When using Guillemets as quotation marks in Germany they are pointing inwards (>>like thisWär' schön, wenn das hier richtig getrennt würde.
Wär' schön, wenn das hier richtig getrennt
würde.

... Herrje, the second part went wrong. Next try.

When using Guillemets as quotation marks in Germany they are pointing inwards. But I believe the dividing function (at the end of lines) of PageFour assumes they are pointing outwards. So it looks like this:

"Wär' schön, wenn das hier richtig getrennt würde.
"

The ending quotation mark is seperated.

A kind of switch to control the dividing function for Guillemets (inwards/outwards) would be great!

We will be enhancing the word count feature for the next release to include a character count.

Interesting comments on the German quotation marks. I'll need to do some investigation on this as it's not something that's come up before or that I've ever looked at in detail.
